With school holidays kicking off on July 12, the team at Coast have lots of fabulous activities planned to keep our youngest shoppers entertained.
The Atrium outside Countdown will transform into an indoor garden with lawn games, such as giant jenga, set up between 10am and 4pm from Monday, July 12 to Sunday, July 25 so you can test your skills.
Rainbow Rascals will be offering face painting in the area from 12pm to 3pm each weekday during the school holidays, transforming children into their favourite animal, superhero or fantasy figure. We predict we will see quite a few fairies, butterflies and Spiderman clones winging their way around the centre.
The artistically inclined will want to head to the former Passion Bags store, next to Bread & Butter, where colouring books, coloured pencils, crayons, model clay and jigsaw puzzles will be available. The room will be set up with a low table and yoga mats so children can sit and draw. There will be some volunteers to help out but children will need to be supervised by an adult in this area.
Fire and Emergency NZ intend to bring one of its fire trucks and crew to the centre from 10am to 2pm on Thursday, July 15 and again on Thursday, July 22 (dates and times may have to change, depending on any emergencies which arise) which is always a favourite with kids (and quite a few adults as well. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates.
The Fire and Emergency NZ team will also set up its Wendy House in the Level 1 carpark on July 15 from 10.30am to 11.30am, to help you and your children learn how to safely evacuate your house in the event of a fire.
So before anyone can say, “I’m bored,” these holidays, bundle your mini-mes into the car or bus and bring them down to Coast.
